Part 3 of the 2001 WR250F build is finally here!
In Parts 1 and 2, I tore the bike down to the bare frame and completely disassembled the engine — only to find a fully locked motor and a broken crankshaft. This bike was in rough shape, but now it’s time to bring it back to life.
In this episode:
Full engine rebuild from the ground up
Bottom end reassembly with a new crank
Top end install and final torque checks
Frame prep and fresh paint
Reassembly of major components
The moment of truth… first kick start
Seeing this 2001 WR250F go from a blown, locked-up motor to almost fully assembled and running again has been a huge milestone in the build. There’s still more to come, but hearing it fire for the first time makes all the hard work worth it.
