On paper, the Sherman Lake trail doesn't look like much: 1.5 miles of singletrack, mild topography, and not very convenient parking.
But once the two-way connector trail ends and you're on the loop, it's pretty easy to get lost in the aura of the place. Pathfinder Trail Building did great with what they had, making the most of the elevation, giving riders a few quick runs, and even some small jumps in just the right spots. The entirety of the trail is a serpentine ribbon of berms and rollers that flow naturally among the pine and cedar forest, which is as-yet predominantly untouched by the scourge of buckthorn.
A couple miles away is the Rice Creek loop, another 1.5 miles of Pathfinder-built singletrack. Connecting these is a combination of paved bike paths and off-the-grid singletrack trails that are shared by dogs, hikers and bikers alike. You can easily come out to ride the Sherman Lake trail and get in a solid 15 mile ride.
