Phuktal or Phugtal gompa is one of the oldest and most spectacular monasteries in the Indian Himalayas. Phuktal gompa is built on the edge of a huge rock in the Zanskar region of Ladakh. There’s a cave on top floor of the monastery where the monks used to live before they constructed the monastery.
