If your Ddrum Red Shot drum rim triggers send inconsistent or inaccurate velocity readings to your drum trigger module, find out how I was able to make these triggers work reliably with my setup by improving them with this inexpensive mod.
These triggers are on acoustic drums with single ply mesh batter heads. Before the mod, the connected Yamaha DTX-502 trigger module picked up consistent drum hits with very inconsistent velocity readings. The settings in the DTX module couldn't correct the issue. So, since I could not return the triggers, I could either not use them or try to fix them. Thankfully, this fix worked for me.
