The walk is about 10 min door to door and has some very nice scenery, very colorful and great sounds along the way. I love Playa del Carmen because it is a very walkable city. You really don't need a car here. A bike will be good enough to get around as well. I highly recommend if you stay in Playa stay at The Thompson Hotel. It's right in the mix of EVERYTHING, and is the perfect location in town.
