*Ongole, the largest of all cities in Prakasam district, is a blend of various cultures. The ancient city has a rich heritage as is evident from the fact that it was mentioned in the inscriptions belonging to the 3rd century when it was ruled by the Pallavas.
*The beach of Kothapatanam is located on the Bay of Bengal, at a distance of 25 km from Ongole.
*The beach is not only famous for its recreational activities, but also for its religious importance. During the Karthika Purnima festival, a multitude of devotees visit the beach to take a holy dip. *During the rest of the year, the beach is visited for recreational activities and picnics.
