Описание: A new state law is in effect making it illegal to have your cell phone in your hand if you are behind the wheel of your vehicle. A first time offense is a $125 fine and if you are caught a second time or in a work zone it is a $250 fine. The hands free law, passed by the Virginia General Assembly, bans holding your cell phone while driving. That means no texting, talking and anything else that puts your phone in your hand while behind the wheel. Distracted driving was the cause of over 900 Henrico County accidents in 2019 and Henrico Police are enforcing this new law.
