Roman Khomlyak filmed Palouse Falls during a higher-flow period, using high-frame-rate slow motion to capture the strength of the drop. The shoot was done with a FreeFly Wave high-speed camera and Rokinon Cine DS 5 lenses on a Canon EF mount, delivering clean detail and smooth motion. Even as water levels began to fall, the footage still clearly shows the power and movement of the waterfall.

Palouse Falls is a Rare “Hanging Waterfall”. It drops dramatically into a narrow basalt canyon, creating a powerful vertical plunge rather than a wide cascading flow. The canyon walls amplify the force and sound of the falling water, making it feel even more intense in person.
