The journey aboard Scotrail service 2T90 from Edinburgh Waverley to Tweedbank aboard Class 158 869 on the Borders Railway.
The line is the northern section of the former Waverley Route closed in 1969 as part of the Beeching Axe, recently re-opened to serve the suburbs and towns to the south of Edinburgh which suffered from poor transport connections. This northern portion of the line covers roughly ⅓ of the original route to Carlisle.
