Cruise is working with Paramount for another installment in the Top Gun franchise. This early report says Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger is already working on a draft, and that the film would also mark the returns of Miles Teller’s Rooster and Glen Powell’s Hangman. Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison are also set to produce again.

More recently, Tom Cruise confirmed that Top Gun 3 is happening during a press interview with Australian show Today for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. And, he also suggests that there’s conversation around a Days of Thunder sequel, too. This guy keeps a job.

“Yeah, we’re thinking and talking about many different stories and what could we do and what’s possible,” said Cruise. “It took me 35 years to figure out Top Gun: Maverick, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick. There’s numerous other films that we’re actively working on right now…”
