When I first found this cleaver, it was almost unrecognizable—covered in thick rust and years of neglect. In this video, I take on the challenge of restoring what might be the most rusted cleaver in the world.
I start by cleaning the entire blade to reveal the true condition underneath. Then I move on to scraping off the heavy rust, removing layer after layer. Once the major rust is gone, I continue with sanding and smoothing the surface, preparing the metal for the next stage.
After sanding, I polish the blade and begin shining it back to life—turning a dull, ruined surface into something reflective again.
Finally, I finish the restoration by replacing the old handle, giving the cleaver not just strength, but a new identity.
