My heartbeat switches sides every minute and a half 😉.
Guess what? I watched the original Ghost in the Shell for the first time yesterday, and holy cow, it’s SO GOOD! I'm not particularly drawn toward cyberpunk aesthetics, so I'm glad that most of the technology, architecture, and city folk were more natural extensions of their real-world counterparts rather than being overtly artificial and otherworldly.
Beside the gorgeous pacing and electrifying action, my favorite part was definitely the water ferry scene, when Motoko Kusanagi took in the totality of her cityscape, peering across dingy canals at all the filth and prosperity, luxury and loneliness compacted in a single space, smothered in dark rain…
Ahh, I can’t stop thinking about it! 😅
