Welles fronted by Jehsea Wells, a prolific songwriter, virtuoso guitarist and monstrous vocalist who recently relocated from Ozark, Arkansas to Nashville. Early enthusiasts are comparing the 23-year-old's distinguished growl and striking lyricism to rock legends, while he readily self-describes the sound as "burnt toast." Welles released their debut EP Codeine on April 28, 2017.
