The Puma Ultra 5 Carbon is one of the most ambitious "speed" focused designs in quite some time! It features what I would argue is the most responsive carbon fiber soleplate ever on a pair of football boots, which sounds amazing, but it's not without some downsides. It's super stiff, which isn't for everyone, the boots were super expensive, meaning that you had to pick them over basically every other option, and perhaps most disappointingly, they just aren't very lightweight. To make a long story short, for a first generation concept, they were very promising, leaving tons of room for Puma to make improvements with the next version. Well, that next version is here, but have they made the necessary improvements?
