Today we meet Shanna, a childhood cancer and rotationplasty survivor! She and PT Dan talk about one of the HARDEST things that a kid with cancer may have to face: SURGERY that forever changes the way they walk or move.
A pediatric cancer rehab specialist like PT Dan has the unique privilege of helping each child prepare for and recover from these surgeries. Ultimately the goal is to rebuild and restore each child's strength and confidence as they reclaim their place in their world. My new friend Shanna is walking, running, dancing, living, breathing proof that kids with cancer can fight forward and overcome each challenge.
These days Shanna is still fighting, as the founder of Childhood Cancer Community, she now spends her days connecting with kids and families who are fighting cancer to help them find the friendships and resources they need during their cancer journey!
