This video is explains in only a few minutes what it feels like to use Sonic Pulse.
In my opinion, I would consider Sonic Pulse to be one of the weaker powerups in the game. For the strengths it provides, it has so many weird weaknesses that forces you to make up for it using your own wits.
Although it is not a good weapon for chasing a high score, it is a good weapon for general use but using another powerup may be the overall better idea.
