In this video I do a detailed review of Menards O gauge tank cars and also a quick “how to” of how I lock the couplers from opening. Plus, the video contains a surprise for me! I hope that if you are considering buying any Menards car that this video will help.
SUMMARY OF VIDEO:
This video features a review of a set of six Meynard's CP Rail tank cars, I received as a Christmas gift. I will open the box, examine the cars, and share my thoughts on their quality, detailing, and performance.
Key points:
The tank cars are well-packed and have a crisp, convincing paint job.
They're likely fantasy models, but plausible and well-detailed for O gauge.
The cars have metal wheels and plastic trucks, rolling easily even on old 027 track.
Some uncoupling issues were noted, but I plan to use them as a unit train so I’ll band the couplers shut. I also convert my modern O gauge cars to use Kadee 1 Gauge couplers for switching ops and will do so with several of these.
I am happy with the purchase and enjoy running these cars.
Overall, the I am pleased with Meynard's tank cars, especially their value and appeal. 👍
