I save a whole minute with what I think is the fastest possible cash grab China can perform: just walk your first red guard straight to it. From there, a whole host of minor improvements come together to make an even earlier double nuke possible.
Baiting out the paladins in the patrol preserves that little guy to steal the 2nd oil quickly, and take the rest of the cash grabs. This gives me enough money to tech up almost a full minute quicker than in my previous WR.
A quick bunker in the main base triggers 2 paladins to rush me, bringing them away from their defended positions into the open for an easy kill (they would have otherwise harassed that capping red guard). It also makes fending off the sneak attack so much easier since I'm no longer dependent on my 2nd bunkerlix picking up the 2nd set of tank hunters after dropping off the 1st group to kill the high-ground gatlings/avenger. Plus even if I lose my helix I'm not hamstrung so badly since I still have the tank hunters on the ground.
I used to build a couple extra dozers while pushing out my existing ones out to build the supplies. This time I don't even bother with the supplies, saving money for the quick nukes instead. I'm not sure if it's better this way though, since I'm missing out on that extra income. I may try it again with this in mind, since it's very doable to just walk the dozer out after killing the 2nd pair of paladins, and the income could give me the extra boost to tech up even quicker.
I kinda bumbled the fight with the 2 bunkers outside my base. A nuke bomber would have made a world of a difference in that fight. But in the end, the difference to me is that I have fewer bunkerlixes for the final attack, which probably would save me at most 10 seconds.
I'm kinda curious about whether I can do this without triggering the SW reset. This feels like it has potential!
On a side note: I feel like out of the 3 China factions, despite the infantry bunkerlix being the strongest, I feel that the Nuke General is the one that does this strat the fastest, since his nukes are $500 less per pop, and with reactor overload I can build 2 nukes, and keep the power running while building a 2nd reactor. I can't do this with the other generals; the 2nd reactor must be built before the 2 nukes or you won't even be able to overload to keep the power in the green. Once you get the 2 nukes counting down, 6 minutes is more than enough time to build enough of a deathball no matter which general you're playing.
