Nalanda University | Ancient World’s Greatest Learning Center
Nalanda University was one of the oldest and most famous universities in the world, located in present-day Bihar, India. Established in the 5th century CE, Nalanda was a global center of higher education that attracted students from China, Korea, Tibet, Sri Lanka, and other countries. Subjects like Buddhism, philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and logic were taught here.
The massive library of Nalanda, known as Dharmaganja, was considered one of the largest libraries of the ancient world. Nalanda University represents the golden age of ancient Indian education and knowledge.
