As well as marking 75 years since Stourhead came into the care of the National Trust, 2021 also marks 300 years since the Hoare family started building the magnificent Palladian mansion n the estate.
With the house reopening on Monday after many months of closure, we thought we would whet your appetite for a future visit by sharing this behind the scenes tour with you.
Join Collections and House Officer, Lucy Cooper, and discover the history of the Hoare family home, how it evolved over time and some of its many treasures.
The house is open from 11am – 3pm daily from Monday 17 May 2021. Visits to the house are limited to ensure social distancing and entry to the house is not guaranteed on the day you visit. We can’t wait to welcome you back.
