Instructor Spotlight: David Stripinis, Houdini and Visual Effects

We are excited to welcome David Stripinis to our "Instructor Spotlight" series - a bi-weekly livestream event where you'll meet some of our amazing instructors and get a glimpse into their lives as artists and educators.

Gnomon's instructors are working professionals who bring unique experiences and perspectives into the classroom, and David is no exception! A veteran 3D Generalist, David has over 22 years of experience in game and movie production, with a focus on animation, VFX, motion capture, and visual storytelling. As a Gnomon instructor, David teaches his students how to create mind-bending visual effects in a variety of industry-standard software.

During this interview, we talk with David about his journey as an artist, what it is like to create top-tier visual effects for blockbuster films (including Avatar, Iron Man 2, and Man of Steel), and what you can expect when learning from him at Gnomon.

Immediately following the interview, our host Adam Hartel shares a brief informational session about the Gnomon student experience and the various careers for artists within the Visual Effects, Animation, and Games industries.
