I purchased a new Stihl chainsaw, Stihl MS 171. I only had an Stihl MS 271 Farm Boss and needed a second chainsaw. I wanted a lighter chainsaw to reduce fatigue. This is used for delimbing when clearing out trees on land. The bison ranch has a ton of trees and some need to come down. The process will go quicker with two chainsaws and I will have less fatigue.
Here on Blackacre Ranch we are city folk who moved to the country to start ranching bison (i.e. buffalo). We are a family with 6 kids. Our goals are to homestead the property, grow healthy food, and build good character along the way. We are new to homesteading and don't know much about it, but we are willing to share our struggles and journey as we learn how to homestead together. Think of this as homesteading for beginners where we are the beginners.
We are converting an old rundown church camp into a first generation ranch...profitable ranch that is. It's a whole new life and we are sharing it with you. We are prepping for larger animals such as bison, highland cattle, pigs and chickens.
