Supreme Court on April 12th refused to stay the use of electoral bonds for political funding. SC has asked all political parties to hand over the details of funds received through electoral bonds to poll panel in a sealed cover by May 30. The apex court also directed the finance ministry to reduce the window of the purchase of electoral bonds from 10 days to five till the end of Lok Sabha elections. Remember, the electoral bond is a deeply contentious issue where the poll panel and political parties are at loggerheads about disclosing the source of funds.
