பெருமாள் முடி கோயம்புத்தூர் ஆனைகட்டி செல்லும் வழியில் தூமனுர் பிரிவில் இருந்து 7km தொலைவில் உள்ளது. புரட்டாசி மாதம் சனிகிழமையில் மட்டும் மாங்கரையில் உள்ள வனத்துறையிடம் அனுமதி வாங்கி செல்ல வேண்டும்.

Perumalmudi Hill is a beautiful hill in Sembukarai village of Coimbatore district. It is also called as Ramar mudi. The hills are at a height of almost 1600 meters, part of Western Ghats range. Situated behind Anuvavi Subramanyar Temple. To visit the place, you have to go to anaikatti road and reach mangarai checkpost. Entry Fee is Rs.40 for bike and Rs.100 for car. A few kms from the checkpost, on the left side there will be road to the Sembukarai village. Some jeeps ply from Mangarai village, but it is better to reach the hill base point through your owned/hired vehicles. The village is like 5kms or so from anaikatti man road. There will be a beautiful trek which could take 2 to 4 hours depending on the person. At the top there is a suyambu Perumal in the rock. People from the village do the poojas at the hill top for generations. Many elephants roam here, especially in the grasspath. Carry at least 2-3 litres of water and some snacks. Get a bamboo stick for Rs.30, whihc is very useful for ascending and descending.

In this area lived a primitive tribes group called thothavar. The hills are open for public only on puratassi month saturdays.
For public to visit the hills, forest Department opens the gate at 7am on puratasi saturdays. Enter your name & mobile number in the book maintained by the forest department. Trekking time is between 3-4 hrs for hike & will take half the time to descend. Need to come down before 5 pm.

Overall a fantastic trekking experience where you will witness the clouds and have Darshan of suyambu Perumal under a Mega sized Rock.
