Yeomans Keyline Plow Shear Pins are used on all Yeomans rigid shanks. They are simply a short piece of bright bar rod cropped to length. These protect both the shank and the plow frame as they break cleanly while allowing your shank to remain on your toolbar. There are no expensive machined grooves or drilled holes in our shear pins.
Our shear pins can be replaced in under 40 seconds, using a hammer and the Drift Tool which is supplied with your Yeomans Keyline Plow.
1. When a shear pin breaks your shank will remain on the tool bar.
2. Remove the sheared pin and discard.
3. Align the Shank and the Oyster Clamp shear pin holes.
4. Position the Drift Tool to secure the shank into place.
5. Use your hammer to position the drift tool into place.
6. Insert the shear pin and remove the drift tool.
The job is done! Fast, efficient and cost effective. Like all Yeomans products, this is engineered simplicity at it's most effective.
Our shear pins will not shear until the tip load exceeds approximately 3 tonnes for a 22" Shank and 6 tonnes for 26" and 31" shanks.
The Shear Pin for the 22" Yeomans Shank uses a 12 mm by 125mm length of Bright Steel. The 26" and 31" Yeomans Shanks use an 18 mm by 150mm length of Bright Steel.
