She explains the resilience of Taiwan’s robust semiconductor industry and the difficulty of replicating or relocating the intertwined vast global supply chains that have been built in the country over four decades. As industries around the world rely on the quality and reliability of Taiwanese chips, conflict in the Taiwan Strait would be catastrophic for the global economy. Therefore, it is in the world’s interest to ensure the safety and stability of Taiwan. Minister Wang also talks about record investment from Taiwanese companies relocating back to the country and other new initiatives, from boosting technological innovation, to attracting foreign investment and green energy.
