Majel Barrett Roddenberry's Rare Story of Number One's Wig Fiasco

Описание: Majel Barrett Roddenberry must have played the most characters in the Star Trek universe over the years. She was there right at the beginning as "Number One" in "The Cage" even before Captain Kirk. She was credited as M. L. Hudec in that episode. She later returned as Nurse (formerly Doctor) Christine Chapel. Years later she would play Counselor Deanna Troi's mother, Lwaxana Troi, on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. All along she portrayed the voice of the Enterprise's computer.

Paul Rosa and I shot this interview at her home in Los Angeles in 1994. She was a very gratious host -- even offering sandwiches. By this time her husband, Gene Roddenberry, had passed, but I remember seeing his golf clubs in the room painted like a jungle.

Majel loved crafts, her little temple cats, and the bulbs she had planted in pots in the backyard. I've interviewed many people in my career, but Majel Barrett stands out as one the the most sincere people I've ever met.

Many years before this, I met her at a convention and bought a script for the then-new Next Generation show from her table.
