In 1794, seven Scottish stonemasons left Edinburgh New Town for Washington DC to help build the official residence of the President of the United States.
Two hundred years later, one of our stonemasons, Charles Jones, travelled to The White House to carve a replica of the famous Scottish Double Rose in the gardens of the iconic building. This is where the original stonemasons would have carried out their work.
