Welcome to this episode, I like to improve the CNC Router Gantry on my machine, by adding a new plate to the X- Axis.
To quantify the improvement I am applying a force of roughly 200N to the router bit and measure the deflection of the Gantry X-Axis.
Now I am a bit surprised to see how much deflection there actually is 1.7mm. The addition of the plate will not result in the changes that I have hoped for. Well after more measuring I found that the Z - Axis Plate also has some movement and so does the spindle holder. So more work to do.
