In This video episode we start in the Cog in Green sea water with less than an hour to go until midday! We need to get the navigational equipment set up as quickly as possible before the shadow on the sundial compass moves to the centre so that we can see what it is at that moment on the chromometer! That way we'll know our location on the map with both latitude and longitude on the map. Only then will we know which direction to sail in to get to Happy Bay and complete one of the hardest and longest intrepid open ocean sea voyages we've ever done!
We do many things in this episode, we catch fish, we spy land through the spy glass, we celebrate with rum, we encounter storms and clear skies and with Mount Malefic in the Aestrin Region far far behind us we finally make it to the island of Happy Bay in our square sailed Cog!
Today we knew it was a good omen when we caught a shimmer tail and many eels!
I love this game for the open world exploration and hard core navigation with survival aspects.
We are starting to get to grips with the square sails of the Cog ship.
Sailing upwind with the square sailed cog remains very challenging.
One day we'll get the brig, so we better be ready!
That might take quite a bit of gold!
But really, check out the glorious sunrise and sunsets in Sailwind, for it is indeed a beautiful and immersive game!
