This video is about staying fit while in Palenque, Mexico and doing body weight exercises for free.
Any traveller knows staying fit while traveling is difficult. Most think it is impossible. I know you can do it and will give you guidance on how to accomplish it.
In this video, I provide a solid leg day routine you can do anywhere. In this routine, we will perform a superset and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). A superset is performing multiple exercises back to back without any breaks. Perform each exercise for 10 reps each and take a 1.5 to 2 minute break after completing each round of the superset. You will perform the superset 3 to 5 times depending on your fitness level.
The Routine:
Warm Up - 5 to 10 minute jog around the city.
Superset
10 Reps Each Exercise
Rest 1.5 - 2 minutes between sets for 3 to 5 sets total depending on your fitness level.
Exercise 1: Squats
Easy Modification - Half Squat
Moderate Modification - Full Range of Motion Squat
Difficult Modification - Jump Squat
Exercise 2 - Jumps
Easy Modification - 1 Step Jump
Moderate Modification - 2 Step Jump
Difficult Modification - 2 to 3ft (1 meter) Jump
Exercise 3 - Lunges
Easy Modification - Stationary Squat
Moderate Modification - Walking Lunges
Difficult Modification - Split Squat
Exercise 4: Wall Sit
Easy Modification - hold for 15 - 30 seconds
Moderate Modification - hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute
Difficult Modification - Hold for 1 - 2 Minutes
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
Exercise: Jog, Run, Sprint, or Sprint Up Stairs
Repeat 10 times at the proper modification for your fitness level.
Easy Modification - Jog
Moderate Modification - Run
Difficult Modification - Sprint
Insane Modification - Sprint Up Stairs
Intervals:
Easy Modification - 20 seconds on 40 seconds rest
Moderate Modification - 30 seconds on 30 seconds rest
Difficult Modification - 40 seconds on 20 seconds rest
