Have you ever heard of day habilitation? It is a service people with disabilities can qualify for in the United States. Day Habs are a place that individuals who need help taking care of themselves can participate in activities during the week. These will vary based on the individuals, and what options are available nearby. Day hab is a day service for adults with learning disabilities who cannot take care of themselves. If you know someone who has an intellectual disability contact a social worker to talk about Day hab and other services they may qualify for.
Also if you are interested in a day habilitation job this video will tell you what that is like. We will also talk about day hab program curriculim and day habilitiation services. What I don't talk about is a day hab without walls which is where people with disabilities go on trips outside of the day hab.
