Today, July 23, we celebrate the feast day of Saint Bridget of Sweden — a holy wife, mother, mystic, and founder of a religious order! In this episode of Catechism for Kids, we discover how Saint Bridget followed God’s voice through family life, prayer, and service to the Church.
Saint Bridget was married and had eight children, including Saint Catherine of Sweden! She loved Jesus deeply and spent time in prayer, especially meditating on the Passion of Christ. After her husband died, she became a pilgrim, traveling to holy places, and she later founded the Bridgettine Order of nuns and monks.
God gave her special messages and visions to help guide others in faith. Though she lived in a royal court, her heart always belonged to Jesus.
