"We won the war. The entire world is supporting us, but Canada is supporting the LTTE. That's wrong. I am telling the Human Rights commission: 'If our Government did something wrong you take it very seriously, but the Canadian Government is not doing anything against the LTTE who attacked and harassed our Sri Lankans living in Canada.' We are only asking that they protect our Sri Lankans living in Canada."

STORYLINE:
Hundreds of Sri Lankans protested outside the Canadian Embassy in Colombo on Wednesday, accusing Canada of supporting the Tamil Tigers in the final days before the rebels' defeat.
Protesters pelted the embassy with stones, sprayed graffiti on the wall and painted over a security camera.
They say Canada has been backing the Tamil rebels and blamed the Canadian authorities for failing to protect Sri Lankans living there and their property.
Recent reports say some Buddhist temples, restaurants and houses in Canada, Britain and France owned by Sri Lanka's majority Sinhalese have come under attack allegedly by rebel Tamil supporters.
The protest came a week after Sri Lanka declared victory in its quarter-century war with the Tamil Tiger rebels.
Tamil Canadians and their supporters have been holding demonstrations for several months to protest the violence in Sri Lanka, urging Canada and other countries to help the two sides reach a cease-fire.
However, the Canadian government considers the Tamil Tigers a "terrorist" group and that labelling has tempered their actions to intervene.
Protesters did make some headway over the weekend after Canada's oppositionLeader Michael Ignatieff agreed to press Prime Minister Stephen Harper on the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka.
