The Government of India has signed BIPAs with 42 countries. The BIPPA between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) expired on September 12, 2024. To replace it, the two countries signed a new Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) on February 13, 2024, which came into effect on August 31, 2024. The BIT aims to create a more robust investment environment and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
