MOHOGANY BAY HAS CHANGED! Our honest review - Majestic Princess - day 4

On Day 4 of our Majestic Princess cruise, we revisited Mahogany Bay in Roatán a port we hadn’t seen in over a decade. We were curious to find out how much had changed since our last visit, when the port was still new and far less crowded.

The day started grey and overcast, so we took our time with coffee and breakfast onboard before heading ashore around noon. We walked through the marketplace and along the tropical trail toward the beach, hoping to relive the memories we had from years ago.

What we found was very different from what we remembered. The beach was packed with rental loungers, umbrellas, and clamshells. The free chairs were worn down and stacked far from the shoreline. The sand felt hard‑packed, the water wasn’t as clear, and the whole area seemed overwhelmed, likely from years of heavy traffic and two large ships in port that day.

It was a bit of a reality check. Our fond memories didn’t quite match the current experience, and after a short walkabout, we decided the best place to enjoy the day was actually back on the ship. So we returned to the Majestic Princess, grabbed a slice of pizza, and relaxed at our favourite spot by the SEA WALK as the sun finally broke through over Belize.
