The “Avid 1” pocket knife was released last year and was an introduction to a more-budget friendly line from Vero. It had phenomenal action, perfect fit and finish, and premium S45VN steel. Regular Vero Knives run in the $300-$400 price point, but with the AVID family, a person can now purchase a Vero engineered knife for under $200. Their latest addition the this family is the AVID 2 - a cleaver variant of the OG Avid. It is a very clean and simple design. The handle is comfortable, and the blade length comes in at 3.25” (8.25cm). Its slightly larger mid-size EDC knife, but the G10 and minimalist word pocket clip keep it under 4 ounces (3.8oz).
The action is additive- I love the way it sounds and vibrates when the detent ball clicks off the tang - definitely one of those knives that you have to hold to appreciate. If you’d like the look of it, I can almost guarantee you will like the feel.
The flipper tab is streamlined and barely noticeable, but still easy to access if you want to get fancy, you use the rectangular cut out to finger, flick it open.
Great model, these are limited and serialized. I’m pretty sure that once they’re gone, they are gone so if you wanna swipe one up, there are still some blue and black ones available.
