Information on the artist: Like most actors, Paul Hawkyard is a man of many professions; firstly he's a Drama Teacher (he seems to teach acting more than he performs it, these days, often taking long periods offstage which is unfortunate for his theatre fans!) and teaches acting whilst also giving masterclasses to some EXTREMELY lucky acting students!! They ignorantly & honestly have NO IDEA how lucky & honoured they are- typical teenagers!!!

Despite also being a Wildlife Artist, Hawkyard has unusually never taught art & painting though, despite being told by his numerous fans & customers that he should run a course and teach that instead. Maybe he will one day?! Who knows with him?!

Paul Hawkyard is also an amateur Photographer, plus a Professional TV & Theatre Actor often performing for York Theatre Royal (Pantomimes & Plays, mostly!) and is based in Selby, Yorkshire in the UK. Including painting, Paul famously portrayed the character of the lovable but stupid Ernie Starboard sporting a Compo (Last Of The Summer Wine) style hat in the TV Series "Old Jack's Boat" with his friend Bernard Cribbins plus he was also a presenter of "The Whybird Stop" for "Playdays" in the 1990s with Ellie Darvill as the voice & puppet operator for bossy Whybird & the late Patsy Byrne (from Narnia and Blackadder) as Betty the Tea Lady. Whybird from "Playdays" was probably an inspiration for many of his bird paintings!
