La Reserva Natural El Encanto de Guanapalo is a nature reserve of approximately 9,000 hectares and is located 110km from Yopal Casanare (http://bit.ly/Yopal_Casanare), the capital of this department. La Reserva de Guanapalo was founded by Mr. Gerardo Zambrano in 1908 in order to preserve the environment, fauna and flora of Casanare and the typical Colombian llanero culture.
El Encanto de Guanapalo is made up of three hatos, Hato Mata de Palma, Hato de Altamira and Hato Montana, which are maintained thanks to tourism. In these hatos there is lodging space and delicious typical llanera food.
In the El Encanto de Guanapalo Nature Reserve you can perform activities such as bird watching, llanero safari, horseback riding, llanero-style cattle work, llanero party, boat tours, bike rides, listening to farm songs, artisanal fishing and nights of Colombian myths and legends.
