This is a quick tutorial on how to make a petticoat.
HINTS: When you are measuring for length, measure your front, sides, and back. These measurements may differ and you'll need them to balance your petticoat.
If you are measuring your own petticoat lengths, get several heavy books and stick a 60" tape measure underneath them, making sure 1-10 inches are underneath the books. Stand up straight with your corset (and other petticoats if you are making over petticoats) on and measure your front, sides, and back. Subtract 10" from each measurement (because we stuck 1-10" underneath the books). Write down those measurements and label them as to which is your side, front, and back. These are your measurements to the floor. If you want your petticoat 8" off the ground, subtract 8"; if you want your petticoat 2" off the ground, subtract 2 inches.
