A medley of Gustav Holst’s compositions performed on a vintage Baldwin Acrosonic piano. This weathered upright piano was subjected to a full restoration throughout the course of the song. First the hardware and exterior wood components were disassembled. After this was complete the old finish and manufacturer’s decal were stripped away using chemical compounds. With the original wood grain now exposed, a custom stain was applied to the piano. After the stain cured a lacquer finish, and seal coat, were added for enhanced luster and protection. The piano was then reassembled with fresh hardware and a replacement manufacturer’s decal.
Completely restored, the Acrosonic piano was tuned and continued to make its fine music after seventy-eight years of constant use.
