Dr. Dil Thavarajah is a Professor of Pulse Quality and Nutritional Breeding in the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Clemson University. She leads the Pulse Biofortification and Nutritional Breeding Program, focusing on developing organic pulse cultivars—such as lentils, chickpeas, and dry peas—with enhanced nutritional profiles, particularly rich in iron, zinc, selenium, and prebiotic carbohydrates.
