"Sam ULG makes his debut on Simply Deep with a 4 track EP full of rich textures, bass and melody. The Bristol based DJ/Producer and owner of Off-Switch Audio has proved the hype is worth believing, formulating a pair of tracks laden with influences from Grime gone by and its modern evolution.

‘DUBLR’ is a brooding beat which hits hard whilst keeping its evocative melody at the forefront of the track. Potent and punchy, the percussion is a driving force which leaves the listener dazed.

‘Vivid Dream’ is true to its name – keeping the emotion from the title track but again adding a demonic low end and glorious groove. Counter melodies calling and responding encapsulate the listener, as Sam ULG proves there is method in his madness and effortlessly transcends genre boundaries.

The remixes come from fellow debutant Duckem and Simply Deep resident Korin Complex. Duckem’s remix is another beast all together, metronomic melodies set alongside a deep and dark backdrop showing the Indigo Movement head honcho isn’t afraid to break the mould. Korin Complex gives ‘Vivid Dream’ a complete revamp with disjointed but beautifully crisp percussion, the order of the day. Keeping the beautiful atmosphere of the original, he moulds his own creation with changing time signatures and tempos to keep the crowd guessing.
