Got a last minute invite to go to Sparta, TN to check out Virgin Falls. It had been at least 8 years since I had been out there, so it seemed like a good time to revisit. A lot of improvements have been made to the trails, most notably the fact that there are actual markers now.
We stayed at site 4 in the Martha’s Pretty Point camp area. Was a bit breezy and cold for my liking, but in milder weather it would be a dream. The high was around 36 F with the lows dipping well into the 20’s. Nice way to start off backpacking in 2020 as well as shaking the rust off of my trail legs!
