How to put on a martingale stop

Описание: When you buy a new martingale or breastplate, it’s important to remember your martingale stop. There’s no denying it, martingale stops are tricky to put on, but they serve an important function.

In this video, Kathryn from RB Equestrian talks through how to fit a martingale stop

• The first tip is to put the martingale stop into a bowl of hot water before you start. This will make the rubber more pliable and stretchy.
• You need to get the martingale stop over the rings that go onto your reins and then down to the middle part of the martingale or breastplate
• The martingale stop prevents movement between the neck strap and the strap that goes down to the girth to keep the neck strap stable so it fits the horse perfectly.
• Once the martingale stop is on the martingale or breastplate, it can be adjusted by pulling it up or pushing it down.
• The martingale stop will sit at an angle across the main strap of the martingale that goes down onto the girth.
