Falls of the Ohio State Park, located in Clarksville, Indiana by the Ohio River is the site where Capt. Meriwether Lewis & 2nd. Lt. William Clark met and shake hands and begins the Lewis & Clark Expedition, also known as the Corps of Discovery Expedition, August 31, 1803 - September 25, 1806.
President Thomas Jefferson commissioned the expedition that made its way Westward and crossed the Continental Divide of America before reaching the Pacific Coast.
The Park also showcased the 390 million years old fossil bed, among the world's largest exposed Devonian fossil beds.
