The key to playing solo acoustic is accompanying the melody while ALSO creating a bit of counter-beat, almost like a drummer would. This adds a lot of depth to the song, and yet still helps you and others stay in time. Here are a few simple strumming patterns, and the simplest chords, for you to play and sing along with "My Hometown." With a capo, you can keep playing these same chords and put the song into a higher key if necessary (as I have done here). Make sure CAPTIONs are ON if you want to see chords, etc.
