Sankakuhead the author of Himouto! Umaru-chan. Revealed in a shocking video that his manga was based on his sister that sadly passed away to a incurable disease back in 2017. Around that same time the manga serialization ended in 2017. He went on record to say he couldn't bare to continue writing a manga about his sister. This explains why we never got another season of the anime or a Season 3. However him opening up about this shows he's improved mentally and willingly to face the future after all the dark times.
