Now, 36 years later, author Michael Rosen and illustrator Helen Oxenbury have reunited to write a poignant festive story for the Big Issue magazine.
Pax: A Festive Tale tells the story of a family living on the breadline whose cat Pax ventures out into the cold because his owners cannot afford to feed him.
Michael and Helen discuss the new story with Sophy and Wilfred, and talk about the challenge of encouraging children to read in the digital era.
