Hull Jazz Festival will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2023. At their Nov 2021 festival Thanda Gumede and John Pope spoke to festival director David Porter. In this video David talks about how the festival has evolved, how they have managed to survive and thrive a global financial crash, deal with the impacts of a pandemic lockdown and Covid, and support 9 local artists from the Hull and East Yorkshire jazz scene with their Kick Start commissions.
